“Contribute to the fuel saving mission”
Governor RN Ravi on Monday launched “Saksham 2020”, a month-long mass awareness campaign on oil and gas conservation.
He said: “We must remember that we have a moral responsibility to our future generations to provide them with a healthy environment and a sustainable future. I call on all of you to come together and make a serious contribution to this fuel-saving mission.
He opened an exhibition of school children’s paintings and flagged down a publicity van, which would travel across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry to spread the message of fuel conservation.
Tamil Nadu Executive Director and State Co-ordinator for Petroleum Industry P. Jayadevan said the campaign included various events such as public car emissions checks, bike day, cyclothon, debates , an energy efficiency campaign and training for LPG deliverers.
