Gary Wheaton United Methodist Church to Host Prayer for Unity Service on January 20
On Thursday, January 20, Gary Wheaton United Methodist Church is hosting “World Week of Prayer for Christian Unity,” an ecumenical service at 7:00 p.m.
Pastors from the Chicago area from various Christian, Catholic and Protestant churches will participate in the service.
The service will include prayers, scripture readings, stories, a sermon, and music. The public is invited to attend in person wearing masks or online at garychurch.org.
For more than 100 years, Christian communities around the world have celebrated this week of prayer for unity.
Traditionally, the week of prayer is celebrated from January 18 to 25.
Gary Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, offers Sunday worship services at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary, featuring Kids’ Church, as well as live broadcast and recorded worship at garychurch.org.
After the service, you can enjoy Sunday School for all ages, as well as an hour of coffee called “Special Mix”.
