In ‘Hindu Sabha’, BJP MP Verma calls for ‘total boycott’ of a community
CONTACT ‘Virat Hindu Sabha‘ organized by the local unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations in the capital on Sunday, West Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Verma called for a ‘total boycott’ of ‘these people’. He did not, however, name any communities.
The meeting, in Dilshad Garden in northeast Delhi, was held to protest the killing of a man, identified as Manish, who was stabbed more than 20 times as he walked home in Sunder Nagri, in east Delhi last week. Six people, identified as Sajid, Aalam, Bilal, Faizan, Mohsin and Shakir, have been arrested in this case. Police had said the incident was the fallout of an old rivalry.
Referring to the murder, Verma is heard saying in an alleged video clip of the reunion: “Jahan jahan yeh aaapko dikhaee de, mai kehta hun, agar inka dimaag thik karna hai… toh ek hi ilaaj hai, woh hai sampurna bahishkar… Aap est baat sehmat ho? Haath khada kar ke bolo agar sehmat ho toh. Mere saath bolo hum inka sampurna bahishkar karenge, hum inki dukan rediyon se koi samaan nahin kharidenge, hum inko koi mazdoori nahi denge.
“Wherever you see them, I say if you want to set them straight…then there’s only one remedy, and that’s a complete boycott…Do you agree with that? Raise your hand if you agree. Say with me, we’ll boycott them completely, we won’t buy any merchandise from their stores, we won’t employ them”.)
When contacted, Verma told The Indian Express that he did not name any religious communities. “What I said was that families whose members commit such murders should be boycotted. These families, if they run a restaurant or a business, must be boycotted. There were such crimes in my area too. And in such cases, their business should be boycotted,” he said.

Religious leader Mahant Nawal Kishore Das also reportedly made inflammatory comments. When contacted, Das told the Indian Express: “I didn’t ask people to pick up guns. I said everyone should come together to defend our nation against those who killed Manish. We have to act against the jihadists, and the police cannot stop us”.
Another speaker, Jagat Guru Yogeshwar Acharya, says in the purported video: “Agar aise log humare mandiro… ko ungli dikhayee, unka ungli mat kaato, unka haath kaato. Agar zarurat pade, to unka gala bhi kaat do. Kya Hoga? Ek ko phaansi hogi, do ko phaansi hogi… Hum sab bhi iska dhyan de… inko chun chun ke marne ka kaam karen (If such people point at our temples, do not cut off his finger, cut off his hand. If necessary, him slit his throat too. What will happen? One or two people will be hanged… Let’s all be careful of that… pick them and kill them).
When asked about his speech by the media, he said, “mai baar baar kahunga iske liye…sanatan dharam ke liye phaansi chadne ke liye tayaar hoon…(I will say this again and again…I am ready to be hanged for the good of Hinduism). religion).”
