Prime Minister Modi welcomes Sadhguru to Mahashivratri and seeks Adiyogi’s blessings for the spirit of unity in mankind

Prime Minister Modi’s letter comes against the backdrop of the annual Mahashivratri night festivities of Isha which attract over 100 million viewers from 170 countries.

Expressing his Mahashivratri greetings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Sadhguru, the founder of the Isha Foundation and hailed his “tireless efforts for the spiritual progress of people”. “The Adiyogi guides us to assimilate a spirit of unity of mind, body and intellect,” Prime Minister Modi said.

“It is heartening to learn of the organization of auspicious Mahashivaratri celebrations,” Prime Minister Modi wrote, adding that it was “an opportunity to remember the ubiquity of the Adiyogi.”

Acknowledging Sadhguru’s work in health and environment, Prime Minister Modi appreciated the “multi-faceted initiatives for environmental conservation, rural development (and) education projects, Health and Community Revitalization” which he described as “aimed at bringing about positive change in many lives.

Thanking the Prime Minister for his warm wishes, the Isha Foundation tweeted: “We thank the Honorable Prime Minister Shri. @narendramodi ji for his warm wishes for the #Mahashivaratri festivities in Adiyogi. @PMOIndia”

Prime Minister Modi’s letter comes against the backdrop of the annual Mahashivratri night festivities of Isha which attract over 100 million viewers from 170 countries. The 12-hour event will begin the evening of March 1 at 6 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. the following day.
