RattanIndia Enterprises on Wednesday announced the launch of its drones business with its wholly owned subsidiary NeoSky India Limited.

The company recently made a strategic investment in US-based urban drone logistics. However, he did not disclose the amount of the investment.

Drone systems have a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications in segments such as logistics, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, surveillance, emergency response, transportation, among others.

“We are delighted with the launch of our drones business in NeoSky. I am sure that NeoSky will usher in a new era of aviation industry applications with its advanced drone platform, ”said Anjali Rattan, Corporate President of RattanIndia Enterprises.

The drone systems will prove to be hugely transformative in providing cost-effective solutions for developing countries like India, the company said.

The government recently announced liberalized drone rules, 2021, and a production-linked incentive program (PLI) for this emerging industry in the domestic market. The program aims to make India a global hub for drones.

The company announced on Tuesday the appointment of Peeyush Kumar, former CEO of Pixella – an India-based drone company, to head its drone business.
