ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP PRESENTS ‘DECLARATION OF GRATITUDE’ TO HINDU STATESMAN RAJAN ZED

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno Bishop presented prominent Hindu statesman Rajan Zed with a “statement of gratitude”.

Quote from statement; presented to Zed by Bishop Daniel Henry Mueggenborg, publicly at a ceremony held in the briefing room of Reno Police Headquarters, said: You have championed the rights of the disadvantaged, fostered respectful dialogue and brotherhood between people from different backgrounds…

The citation also read: I want to thank you for your many participations in interfaith work at the local, state, national and international levels.

Global religious statesman Rajan Zed has supported interfaith, religion, European Roma (Gypsies) and other causes all over the world. He read opening prayers in the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives in Washington DC; various state senates, state houses of representatives, county commissions, city councils throughout the United States; covering 292 legislative bodies in 43 states. He was invited by the President of the European Parliament to Brussels (Belgium) for an individual meeting to promote interreligious dialogue.

Zed, who is president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, had been a panelist for “On Faith,” a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post; and has produced a weekly “Faith Forum” interfaith panel in a Gannett daily for more than 11 years.

Bishop Mueggenborg oversees approximately 90,000 Roman Catholics spread over approximately 71,000 square miles in 12 Nevada counties – Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe. It reports directly to the Vatican and 34 priests report to it. He also runs five schools.
