WELLSVILLE — William P. Wilson, 77, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Wellsville on Sunday, September 18, 2022, following a long illness. The love of his family surrounded him as he passed.

Bill was born in East Liverpool on August 16, 1945. He was the son of the late Robert Wilson and the late Harriet Alfred Saltsman.

Prior to his disability, Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator. He had been baptized at Wellsville First Christian Church and was proud of his service to his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was predeceased by his wife, LaDonna Wilson, granddaughter, Amber Dawn Merriman, and brother, Harold Wilson, along with his parents.

His cherished family includes his daughters, Lori Ross, LaDonna (John) Merriman and Billie Jo Dickson, all of Wellsville, and Thomas R. Wilson of Salineville, his grandchildren, Brandee Ross, Bradley Merriman, Briana Curtis, William Dickson, Alex Dickson, Joey Dickson, Wesley Dickson, Zachary Merriman and Amanda Bray, and nine great-grandchildren. Additionally, Bill is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Hawk and Minnie Justice, and his brothers, Bob (Bonnie) Wilson and Richard (Linda) Wilson of Salineville.

Reverend Mark Blakeley will celebrate Bill’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday, September 21 at 3:00 p.m. The National Guard Honor Guard and the VFW Post 6450 Honor Guard will bestow full military honours. Friends may visit family at the funeral home on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Private interment will be Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
